Down to zero keys? We drive to the car, make a new key from the lock or VIN, and program it before we leave. No tow, no dealer wait, usually done inside an hour.

With no key left to duplicate, the key has to be built from scratch. The cut pattern comes from the vehicle itself, decoded from a door lock or pulled up from the VIN, and we cut the blade on a code machine in the van. That only gets you a key that turns in the lock. The transponder chip in the head still has to be paired to the immobilizer before the engine will fire, which is why a plain hardware-store copy often leaves you stuck in the parking lot.
Two things set the cost: the make and the style of key. The drive out to you doesn't change it. A basic chip key for an older domestic truck lands near the low end of the range, while a push-to-start proximity key for a newer European car lands near the top. Tell us the year, make and model on the phone and we'll give you the figure.
These are the ranges for the brands we work on most often in North Idaho. Model year and key style decide where inside the range your key falls, and a quick phone call gets you the actual figure.

Before anything gets cut, we look at your driver's license and the registration. Nobody gets a key to a vehicle that isn't theirs.
The blade is cut on a laser or code-cutting machine right in the van, matched to the lock on your car or truck.
We plug into the OBD-II port under the dash and register the new transponder with the immobilizer so the engine accepts it.
The key gets tested in the ignition, the doors and the trunk or tailgate. You leave with a key that works, guaranteed.
Each of these keys and fobs was made right at the vehicle, around Coeur d'Alene and North Idaho.

Remotes, fobs and push-to-start keys paired to your vehicle where it's parked, using dealer-level programming equipment.
Chip keys cut and coded until the immobilizer recognizes them and the engine will start.
A key jammed or broken off in the ignition, or a cylinder that won't turn, fixed or replaced at the vehicle so you can skip the tow.
A phone call reaches us fastest. Someone picks up 24/7, gives you the price during the call, and heads out to wherever the vehicle is.
